2003-2004 - Artists from the Casa de Velázquez

From November 16, 2003 to January 4, 2004

Presentation

True to the policy of welcoming and supporting young artists initiated by François-Frédéric Lemot, every year since 1992, the General Council of Loire-Atlantique presents an exhibition at the Estate of Garenne Lemot, featuring the work of recent graduates from the Casa de Velázquez in Madrid as part of a cultural exchange program between the two institutions.

The Casa de Velázquez welcomes French artists, laureates of a competition under the artistic care of the Academy of Fine Arts. It also welcomes Spanish grant recipients, as part of reciprocal agreements with the cities of Valencia and Zaragoza.
Isabel Duperray, Véronique Le Retif, Emmanuelle Perat, Christophe Rameau, Lise Sainte Claire Deville and Lina Vila come from different backgrounds and present a selection of some of the work they did while in Madrid.
The artwork presented during the exhibition represents a wide variety of creative outlets used in contemporary art and are the result of two years of hard work in an institution that shares the same values as the Lemot Villa, that is to say, the desire to encourage and highlight the value of artistic creations.
