Comme de Longs Échos
20 May to 3 October 2021
Presentation
True to its primary vocation of hosting artists and artwork, the Domaine de la Garenne Lemot is hosting "Comme de Longs Échos, an exhibit produced by the Musée Dobrée, with some artwork on loan from the Val-de-Marne Museum of Contemporary Art, the Centre-Val de Loire Regional Contemporary Art Fund, the Pays de la Loire Regional Contemporary Art Fund and the Haute-Vienne Museum of Contemporary Art.
Free admission, reservations required.
For this unique exhibit, the curators created a conversation across time between contemporary artwork and art objects from the past.
The present-day artwork, loaned or created for the occasion, echoes the ancient and modern art of the Musée Dobrée. Each room in the Villa Lemot is dedicated to a dialogue between one or more contemporary artists and one or more objects from the Musée Dobrée collections.
The exhibit features works by Raphaël Barontini, Michel Blazy, Léa Le Bricomte, Clément Cogitore, Sara Favriau, Aurélien Froment, Loriot-Mélia, Emo de Medeiros, Rachel Morellet, Tsuneko Taniuchi and Emmanuelle Villard.
Curator of the exhibit: Julie Pellegrin, director of Grand Patrimoine de Loire-Atlantique and Jean-Michel Jagot, independent exhibit curator, curatorial assistant at MAC VAL.
