Eva Jospin - Un Grand Tour

21 May to 18 September 2022

Presentation

The Grand Tour by Eva Jospin, famous sculptor, takes us on a very personal journey where Italian architecture and scenery are particularly present, remembrances of her stay as a resident at the Villa Medici in 2017.

The beautiful landscapes, the anxiety and fascination that emerges from mythology and fairy tales are sources of inspiration for Eva Jospin, who creates works where nature is symbolically staged. Her grottos, forests, rocks and nymphaea, sculpted from cardboard, are exhibited in the Villa Lemot and echo the hundred-year-old ornamental follies located along the paths of the Garenne park.

In 2021, the artist created a bronze sculpture for the Garenne Lemot park: The Gorgon Forest. This art installation is on view with free admission through 2023.

Hêtre

Aerial dance - Cie Libertivore, direction Fanny Soriano

A young woman gradually moves away from the world of reality and enters a forest of mysteries and dreams. She wraps her sinuous body around the branch, twirling and floating until she becomes one with the wood. But although she is alone, she doesn't retreat into herself. She literally rises above it all. She gathers her strength and opens up the windows onto a secret world. A harmonious and hypnotic connection between an extraordinary prop and a young woman undergoing a metamorphosis.

Hêtre is about the vital need for solitude. Today we are assailed by external stimuli and urgent requests, day and night. It is increasingly difficult to find time to relax in silence. How can we find our centre and practice mindfulness? How can we prioritise the special moments of solitude that forge our identity and set us free?

Poetic Circus - Cie Furinkaï

With Yumi Rigout and Satchie Noro, dance, Maïa Barouh, vocals, flutes, Léo Kamazawa, percussions.

Halfway between dance and circus, this poetic show combines the exploration of movement, matter and sounds in an enchanting whirlwind. Satchie Noro has always tried to find the sounds that inspire her art. This piece explores entities that spin, circulate, revolve, twist, and tangle, examining what rotation does to a body and how the body rotates, what spirals up from far away, and what escapes from the memory under the effect of a concentric force.

  • Duration: 35 min.
