Promenons-Nous dans le Bois

In 1805, the young sculptor François-Frédéric Lemot (1771-1827) acquired the former hunting grounds of the Lords of Clisson. He wanted to turn it into a garden where his artist friends could enjoy picturesque scenery. Two centuries later, that dream is still alive. Learn about the history of the site through its vegetation during a guided tour along the paths of the estate from the plateau on the banks of the Sèvre Nantaise to the panoramic terrace of the villa.

Clisson was home to many artists at the time, and the park was designed based on their work.
