Architecture and art from the Greek and Roman Antiquity have always seduced, inspired and fascinated artists and their sponsors. Every era has found in the age of Antiquity models and patterns that match their taste and their idea of Beauty.
At the heart of La Garenne Lemot estate, inside the villa, the exhibition The Beauty of Ancient Times invites you to a historic, artistic and aesthetic journey to discover the ways every century integrated aspects from Ancient times to create their own style: slender and singing during the Renaissance, more moderate and ordered during the Classicism, lighter and more frivolous in the first half of the XVIIIth century. Little by little, the antique style conquered the arts and everyday life, and it has never completely left them ever since.
The beauty and cultures of Ancient Times never go out of fashion.
