La Garenne Lemot: Accessibility
La Garenne Lemot Estate has been taking steps to improve the accessibility of its site for people with disabilities so as to ensure greater convenience and comfort for all its visitors.
Access to our sites is free for people with disabilities and the person accompanying them, upon presentation of proof.
For small groups of visitors with disabilities, we can arrange a tour or a suitable theme-based workshop. Bookings obligatory.

Visitors with reduced mobility
Access
The main entrance to the estate is all on the one level and can be accessed from the car park (reserved car parking), via a non-tarmacked pathway (distance: approx. 400 m).
The reception area of the Maison du Jardinier (Gardener's House) is accessible to visitors with reduced mobility.
Services available: the reception desk area is wheelchair accessible, there are rest areas in the reading space, and a wheelchair-accessible toilet is also available in the courtyard area of the Maison du Jardinier.
Visiting the site
The 13-hectare estate is partially accessible for visitors with reduced mobility and wheelchair users. There are many steps, moderate to steep slopes, loose soil (gravel), rocks, and some of the follies and attractions are spaced at quite a distance from each other. It is advisable to visit the site accompanied. Some seating points or rest areas can be found scattered throughout the grounds.

Regularly scheduled activities (guided tours, family workshops) are partially accessible to visitors with reduced mobility, when accompanied.
Facilitators and guides can adapt the course of visits to suit visitors with reduced mobility.
Visitors with mental or cognitive disabilities
Access
The entranceway from the car park to the reception area of the Maison du Jardinier (Gardener’s House) is accessible for visitors with mental or cognitive disabilities, when accompanied.
A booklet with a map of the estate, the opening hours, entrance fees and services and amenities will be available to consult on site at the reception area of the Maison du Jardinier this summer.
Visiting the site
A short booklet that’s easy to read and understand will be available from the reception area this summer. During exhibition periods, the exhibition spaces of the Villa Lemot offer various activities allowing visitors to discover the exhibition in a fun way.

Blind and visually impaired visitors
Access
For greater comfort and safety, we recommend that blind and visually impaired visitors come accompanied. Guide dogs are welcome.
Visiting the site
A specially adapted visit for blind and visually impaired visitors will be up and running this summer.
An illustrated map for the person accompanying the blind or visually impaired visitor will be available from the reception area, as well as a visitor’s kit containing an audio guide with audio descriptions. The route also includes a touch tour. This kit is suitable for blind and visually impaired visitors and can be requested at the reception area of the Maison du Jardinier.

Deaf or hearing impaired visitors

We have magnetic loops allowing visitors to interact with our staff.
Visiting the site
A short, easy-to-read booklet will be available from the Villa Lemot for deaf and hearing-impaired visitors this summer.During exhibition periods, the Villa Lemot caters to deaf and hearing impaired visitors through the use of labels explaining or describing the objects or artworks on display, as well as interactive stations.
